Bateson and punnett observed 382 purple flowered and 269 white flowered sweet peas in an F2. are these numbers consistent with the 9:7 ratio they predicted using a chi square test? identify the most probable type of genetic inheritance suggested by the 9:7 ratio
What is the best answer to this question?
I watched a programme about this pea study. It was done by a monk years ago and lay undiscovered until someone found his book. by then we already had some knowledge about genetics. I cant remember the results. sorry.
I reckon it was every second generation a purple one appeared or something like that.
try searches for the monks details
Reply:YAWN!!! Who cares?
Reply:are you giving away a degree for best answer......
Reply:I'm not sure, but try searching Gregor Mendel. He was the monk who researched this stuff.

What is Russian Compost?
I have read a gardening magazine in which it tells you to plant Sweet peas in the winter covered with "Russian Compost"
I have never heard of it!
What is Russian Compost?
"Russian compost" is similar to trench composting where the fresh vegetable material is buried in a hole or in a trench. I think that the theory that they are working with is that the decomposing plant material will generate heat and that will encourage plant growth by warming the soil sooner in the spring. What the heck, it's worth a try. Just remember that the seeds are planted over the compost deposits, not under them.

Good Luck and Happy Gardening from Cathy and Neal!
Reply:If my guess is right, it's the making a cold frame, and then putting "fresh" compost down as the bottom layer - compost that is not complete, and still generating heat from decomposition. Then you put 6 inches of soil on top, and plant in that. The heat from the compost will help the plants grow sooner than if you wait for spring to come.
This will work where there are mild-ish winters. It won't be able to compete with a deep, sustained, freeze.
Look up your source again - it shouldn't say to put the compost on TOP - but underneath.
Reply:Cat got it right, it goes under what you plant to heat the soil and is usually a little 'hot', or high in greens. Ive experimented with fresh cow manure and had good results. RScott

Flowers Native to Italy?
I have searched the internet (including the Italian Botanical's website) for flowers that are native to Italy. I've found three, sweet pea's, hibiscus and jasmine. Does anyone know of any others? The region doesn't matter. Thank you.

A few weeks ago I was asking where had all the flowers gone.?
Not anymore need I ask..... I have yellow and deep crimson wallflowers in bloom in my garden as well as roses, sweet peas, clematis and a viburnum which has a masses of pink blooms.
Surely the wallflowers and vibernum should not be flowering until late spring. Why do you think my garden has suddenly burst into bloom at this time of year? I usually have roses and clematis until Christmas or beyond but not sweet peas etc.
A few weeks ago I was asking where had all the flowers gone.?
Depends where you live, mine are all dying but hey I planted 170 bulbs for the spring so am looking forward to Spring again

Reply:It's depressingly warm, is why, especially in Scotland - the south of England seems to be heading for a mediterranean-type climate with only two seasons, one of which might be colder than average where Scotland is warmer than average - even though it might still be, ultimately, colder in Scotland, if you get what I'm saying.
I'm thinking of growing olive trees in my garden.
However, many plants are affected by light levels, not warmth, so some things will still do better in the south than the north, and vice versa. Have you had a lot of sunny days? That might be making the difference - light AND warmth.

Has anyone ever had a Russian Blue cat as a pet? What was/is your experience in the relationship with your cat
Sweet Pea, my Russian Blue, suffered from kidney failure and I had to put her to sleep. She is my guardian angel %26amp; I miss her so much. I have wanted to find another cat of that breed ever since, but it is very difficult to find Russian Blue kittens that are local to my Los Angeles CA area. Sweet Pea came up and introduced herself to me in an alley back in 1995....
Has anyone ever had a Russian Blue cat as a pet? What was/is your experience in the relationship with your cat
Yes, I had a Russian Blue. They seem to be "one person" cats. Mine was named Toby and he was a talker too. He died of old age in 1994. I still miss his silky soft fur and the way he slept by my head and purred me to sleep.

Reply:My sister had a Russian Blue and she was the prettiest cat, and so affectionate. And she had a very graceful walk and quiet meow. Great cat!
Reply:Aww, I'm sorry to hear that Sweet Pea is no longer with you. And what a wonderful story about the way she introduced herself to you. I guess she knew from the start that she would be your best friend if you offered her a home.
I have never had a Russian Blue, but a friend had one, and he loved that cat so much. He got his at an animal shelter, so he was quite lucky. The only trouble with the cat is that it sometimes drooled. I don't know if that is a general characteristic or if it just pertained to that one cat.
In any event, I hope that you will find a new little friend soon, and I know that you will continue to cherish your beautiful memories of Sweet Pea. Good luck.
Reply:I have never had a "pedigree" type cat as a pet. I always had the mutt type cats
Reply:We think the cat was a Russian Blue, he looked like one. He was a stray that adopted us. We called him blue and he was 100% pure scrounge cat. He really attached himself to my husband. Wherever my husband would go he would follow him. He didn't like to be loved or petted too much, but he just wanted to be with you. We don't know how he died, he came up missing for a couple of weeks, then one day we found him in the yard. And still to this day 2 yrs. later, we don't know what he died from or what got a hold of him.
Reply:I had a cat called Ashley that everyone said was a Russian Blue. She looked just like one, but she was a stray. I lost her to kidney failure caused by feline leukemia. She will always have a special place in my heart, as will yours. Sorry for your loss. :(

What other musical artists have a style similar to Norah Jones?
I love Norah Jones music and have all her albums. Do you know anyone with similar style, voice, genre, etc.? I heard this one song on a commercial "Sweet pea, apple of my eye,....you're the only reason i keep on coming home." Does anyone know who sings that? They sound similar.
What other musical artists have a style similar to Norah Jones?
Amos Lee sings the "sweet pee, apple of my eye" song. I think that commercial is adorable! Other artists similar to Norah Jones you might like are Cassandra Wilson, Madeleine Peyroux, Charlie Hunter, Billie Holiday, and Bill Frissel. Check them out! :)

Obelisk and container gardening?
I was thinking about planting a container (16inch across) and plunking two tomato cages that have been wired together (like a poor mans obelisk) in the middle. I have tried sweet peas this way (bloom period just too short in hot summers here in Detroit) and it worked out well. Any other suggestions? I was thinking about moonflowers, but I'm wondering if they might be too aggressive, top heavy, etc for this set up?
Any ideas?
I'm also thinking about black-eyed susan vine, or morning glories.
What do you guys think?
Any input appreciated .....
Be well

Pretty ideas! Other good climbers are jasmine and akebia. I think moonflower would work with that idea as well, and would really be beautiful.

Does anyone know what happened to the perfume "IN LOVE" by Norman Hartnell?
It has to be the Norman Hartnell one, not newer fragrances that use similar names. I'm pretty sure it's not available anymore, but I would love to find out why or what happened. It was a classic fragrance for many, many years. The last time I could buy it that I can remember was about 10 years ago. I think the floral base of the fragrance was sweet-pea, so if anyone knows any other fragrances with a sweet-pea base, that would also be helpful. Thank you so much.
Does anyone know what happened to the perfume "IN LOVE" by Norman Hartnell?
They discoutinued that item. But one similar might be 1920s Rénaud Paris Boxed Sweet Pea Scent.

What is your kids pet name (nickname)? And does it actually fit them?
I call my daughter Sweet pea. I gave her that nickname when she was first born and low and behold almost 4 yrs later she is not really that sweet. To me she can be sweet, but she's actually a bully at daycare, etc... I was wondering if anyone else has nicknames that do or don't fit their child?
What is your kids pet name (nickname)? And does it actually fit them?
well, my son's nickname is kinda long: darlin' cakers, precious keeper, booger buttaroni.
yeah, we are a bit weird in my family. my mother calls him darlin' cakers, i call him precious keeper and booger buttaroni - so he decided they should all be put together and now that's his nickname. Because it's so ridiculously long, we usually use his real name. But yes, it fits him. He is a darling and precious, but can be a booger butt at times.
Reply:I used to call my daughter "Mishka" which is "mouse" where I come from (her name is Michelle). Yes, it fit. She'd get into all kinds of small spaces (and HUGE trouble).
When she got older (grade school), she thought "Mickey" was cooler (but it's just another way to say "mouse", isn't it!)
Reply:I used to call my youngest one "piglet" because she was very chubby when she was born! (It's kind of funny, because for some reason her jr high school band director started calling her that, and she was a bean pole by then! He didn't know that's what we called her when she was a baby either.) Then it was "sweet pea" when she was very little, and that lasted until she started kindergarten - then SHE decided she was too old for it! ;-) She has a little girl now who will be three in September; I call her "Pooh Bear" sometimes because she was a little chubby when she was born and she's very cuddly, and of course, I call her "sweetheart" sometimes because she does have a very sweet heart - but lately she's started saying "no...I'm Chloe!" (But then if I call her by her name, she says "You're Nana, I'M sweetheart!") ;-)
We call all of our girls (two daughters %26amp; one granddaughter) "Princess", even if they don't act like it.....but they know I'm the Queen! LOL!

There used to be a shampoo called 'Yucca Dew' that had a smell so delicious I almost drank it! Almost!

Reply:My sister makes soaps, one of the scents, was honey. It smelled like pound cake.
That one our the customers had a bar of it on a table at home and one of her children came home saw it and started to eat it.
We put labels on all the soaps of do not ingest.
So your not the only one.

Do climbing nasturtiums have tendrils?
Do they climb up a surface on their own, like morning glories or sweet peas? I have never seen one on a trellis, so I wondered.
Do climbing nasturtiums have tendrils?
I have never grown "climbing" nasturtiums. BUT, I understand that the climbers have "coiling leafstalks". They can "climb" up to 6 feet. I would take this to mean that they need some kind of trellis to attach to.
Good Luck!!

Describe your dog's dog house. What do you have around it, and what does it look like?
I'm geting an australian shepherd in a couple of months, I'm realy excited. I have a sheltie but hes just to damn mean, I made a dog house for him last year, and he never goes in it, once i tried to teach him, he went in, then went our and won't stay inside. i'm going to teach my aussie early to like her dog house, i'm going to have vines (sweet pea, morning glory) all around it, and lillies, perannuals, and other annuals around it. But if she has blue eyes, i'm going to have all the flowers blue. Whats your dog house like?
Describe your dog's dog house. What do you have around it, and what does it look like?
My dogs live in my house. It has a large, fenced in yard along with central heat and air. They have a choice of TV or PBS when I am gone. Why don't you let your dog live in the house with you? It can hardly guard the house if it's kept outside.
Reply:Dan, are you serious? I have never had a dog that liked to go in an outside dog house. If the dog likes it, fine, if not.....
Reply:I have several dogs and their house is about 2000 sq ft, it's in the middle of renovations so there are lots of baby gates up because the tile is being regrouted. It has central air, and lots of plants, but hanging from the ceiling so they don't get eaten. They have pallets on the floor of the room they sleep in and it's the biggest room in the house. We sleep there too, and sometimes when we have only adult dogs and no puppies, we even get to sleep without a pup. They like that room best because that's the way to that special "outside" place. However, since this is Florida and they are big german shepherds and 1 medium husky, they like going back in their house because it gets too hot to stay outside for very long. :)
Reply:My dog has a dogloo. It is a dog house but its like a igloo. Its plastic. It has lots off stuffed animals and blankets in it. It is just out side the backyard door. around it there are lots of bushes and flowers. He sniffs them when he wakes up. He likes it alot. He like sthe part thjat he can see everyone from it so he isnt so much alone. try putting the house so that if you are outside he can see you very well!
Reply:well my dogs, dog house is huge, it has a livin room a kitchen two bathrooms and 3bedrooms,
theres a tv, coal fire, a computer and a fish tank in his livin room,
to be honest i think hes slighty spoilt.
Reply:i see a dog house as a waste of time and space. i mean a dog isnt going to go into it if it doesnt want to. so y try. and y would u put flowers around it that is stupid. some flowers can be toxic to dogs. is it going to be an outside dog. if so just make sure that u have a little area that has a roof on it like for instance if u have an open porch with a roof over it. and then just put a bed there. then it will be fine. as long as it has shelter it will be fine. ur thinking way to much about this. dogs dont really need dog houses. they r a waste of money
Reply:Right now my dog house is three bedrooms, living room, family room, kitchen and two bathrooms. A doggy door in the back so they can come and go as they please.
In the past, my ex-wife would not let the dogs stay in the house. So we had a 4'x6' dog house. It was filled with ceder chips and a foam rubber dog bed. The funny thing was she would play like Snoopy, from Peanuts. She would stand up on the peaked roof of the house. I don't think she every went inside.
When I got my Chi/Rat Terrier I bought one of those Igloo dog houses and a nice bed. All he did was drag the bed out and shred it. I got the doggy door and everything has been great since then. It ever works with my other younger dogs, a Beagle and an APBT.
Reply:my dogs dont have dog houses. this might sound really stupid, but what are they used for? do they actually live in there their whole lives? no rude comments about this question please.

My 14 month old will only eat sweet potatos!!?
my 14 month old has become a picky eater. we are feeding him an almost vegetarian diet. he occasionally has chicken or turkey.
i just want to make sure he is eating enough, since we're weaning him off his bottle, so most of his nutrients are coming from his food.
this is his usual daily intake....sound ok?
Breakfast:
either a bowl of oatmeal with cinnamon or yogurt. sometimes he eats a jar of apple sauce or peaches with his oatmeal.
Lunch: variation of jarred sweet potatos, sweet peas, squash or carrots. usually eats one or two jars. we do cheese quesadillas occasionally. also, he'll eat crackers, and maybe some "Lil' Crunchies". 1 cup of pudding.
8 ounces of milk
Dinner: the same as dinner, but i try to get him to eat more. he occasionally has some turkey or chicken.
8 more ounces of milk before sleepy time.
he also snacks a lot. he loves animal crackers, banana cookies, club crackers and gerber puffs. he won't drink juice, so i give him water throughout the day.
My 14 month old will only eat sweet potatos!!?
I wouldn't worry. sounds like he's doing just fine. Most children between 18moths and 3 years go through phases where they will only eat certain foods... favourite with my children is jam sandwiches.
he's getting a Good breakfast, potato is good, veg is better than no veg, and seems like theres plenty of protein too.
water is better than juice anyway as children can rely on juice for their nutrients causing them to not eat properly.
The only thing I would suggest is making your own mash potato, with a bit of cheese and loads of butter in it. Or if he wants ot stick to his jars, trying adding and disguising foods in that.
All will come right in the end, and then you'll be stressing you cant buy enough food to satisfy his appetite! good luck!
Reply:Cups of pudding, jars of processed baby food, crackers, cookies, "puffs," and what are essentially Cheetos ("Lil' Crunchies") are not ideal things to offer, to put it mildly.
Throw out the Gerber garbage and just offer real food. If he doesn't eat it, he doesn't eat it; make with the milk (I assume formula milk, not expressed breast milk?). But stop offering garbage.
Reply:Have you tried giving him raviolis and things like that. He may like them (especially if you give him some with sauce, since it'd be messy). Plus they're a good source of protein. Buy him a variety of the little entrees and see what he likes. It may be a matter of finding a favorite and sticking with it.
Reply:sounds great to me! good job mom. if you want to introduce more foods just put 1 piece of it on his plate, don't mention it to him just let him discover it himself. i find after about 10-20 times of tasting it they will start liking it. it takes time and some things they just don't like.
Reply:FYI It usually takes anywhere up to 7-15 times to get a child to try a new food - Don't get too frustrated yet and it sounds like you are doing a great job as it is.

Reply:sounds ok to me ,sweat potatos are very nutritious .all kids go through fussy stages but yours sounds like he has a balanced diet , as long as he is still gaining weight he will be fine .if you still worried go get him checked out but he sounds good to me.

They have plenty of sugar free puddings too. What's a yummy snack going to do to him? Nothing. You are perfectly capable of deciding what's good and bad for your child, I can tell because of how concerned you are about his eating habits. Honestly I don't see anything wrong with how you are approaching him. I have one son who would eat anything you give him and another who is so picky it's frustrating! Just keep offering him food he normally doesn't eat and let him decide to eat it. Good luck and you are doing fine. Some people are so judgmental. Just because we don't make our OWN milk doesn't mean we aren't good parents! Geez.

Why does a cat nip or bite you?
This recently has happened to me with Marshall, (it's been about three months since Marshall and Wylie stay 24/7 with me with limited freedom that's gated, and sleep with me), that when I pet him, he nips or bites me. Nothing serious. Just teeth marks. I'm just curious to why cats nip or bite you. (This summer, Sweet Pea bit my mom at the veins of her hand, and was infected, and had to get antibiotics. We don't know why that happened.)
Why does a cat nip or bite you?
Some cats, when they are very happy and feeling extremely affectionate towards their owner, will gently take a piece of human skin between their teeth and hold it for a few seconds. It's the feline equivalent of kissing.
Others, have a very low tolerance of being petted, and will lash out to tell you when they've had enough. Usually they will give you a few warning signs first, such as swishing their tail, flicking or flattening of their ears. Sometimes, as they grow older, their tolerance of being handled increases, but you still need to keep an eye out for signs that they're getting agitated.
Reply:Some cats do a thing called "passion biting" They get so excited and happy, that instead of licking or rubbing their face on you they bite. My female does it. She has learned what "No Bite" means now and does it less. It's not out of aggression, it's passion and affection to the extreme.
Reply:i have 1 cat 4kittens and all of them bite me its just like a touch its a way they show affection they normally do it if i show the other cats some love. just to get my attention
Reply:Cats nip and bite by instinct like they do in the wild when they catch there pray such as moles, birds, and rabbits, and mice they cant help it it's just to natrual to them. This has happend to my kitty before and i found out that he was just a super picky cat and just wanted me to pet him more softer and calm. Then he never did it again. Also if he does that when you just walk by him and he does it again then that just means he wants more attention. Maybe it may mean he wants to go out or his litter box is too dirty or maybe just wants a refill in his bowl for food or water. Cats show signs of what they want and your kitty just might be telling you something that he wants or maybe his instinct comes in and he see's a moving thing and he bites it, as he would do in the wild.
Reply:playing
Reply:one of my kittens nips me when she plays, she rolls on her back and grabs my wrist with her legs and nips at my hand and wrist. It doesn't hurt and she never leaves marks.
Reply:Why does any animal bite or nip?..............it is their only line of defense, they may feel threatened or don't like what is happening. Another reason is it is a show of affection, playfulness ect. Just make sure that the animal has all of their shots, your mother got infected because cats ,as a rule, have very dirty mouths. Any time the skin is broken with a cat bite, even if you clean it right away, usually always requires anti-biotics. Once I had a big cat for like 8 years, I was brushing him, and he was loving it. All of a sudden he turned around and bit the hell out of me, 12 hours later , I was in the hospital getting a strong dose of i.v. anti-biotics administered, for the infection. My husband then started calling that cat " Fang" from then on.
Reply:This is totally normal!!!
I own about 10 cats [i live on a farm] and most of them were raised outside. The cats get there Wild Side once they are outside. Most cats like to purr when they are happy. Sometimes when cats are very happy/excited, the cat starts to bite/nip. My house-raised cat, Thai always bites me when he first see's me. It just means they are excited to see you. If you do not like it when they bite you, just poke them on the nose or spray them with a spray bottle.
Kittens
My sister just got a kitten. Unfortunatly, she picked out the most playful one. The more playful, the more nippy. Her cat, Skooter, always bites you, it just means he is either teething or just doesnt know that it is bad for him to do that.
I hope all of my info helps you out!

Reply:several possibilities......
you might have some smell on your hand like food that causes them to bite you.
Or being playful...
Or if you have been gone more than usual lately or something has changed then they might be just acting out...
if it continues then i would use a squirt bottle when they bite you. Cats HATE that, so it might help them to stop.
hope this helped.
good luck!
Reply:A couple possibilities... either because she could be playing or that she's hungry
Reply:Some times cats are bothered by lots of petting or they are just gettin frisky. I had a cat that you could pet for about 1 min and then he would just turn on you and would touch him for the rest of the day he was cranky though. He also got his claws into my mom wrist and it was really bad my mom was crying really bad because the nails went so far into her wrist. my one other cat would like to get pet but then for now reason he would bite me also but not hard just leave teeth marks but he wouldnt run away. Im pretty sure he liked doing it so I think to him it was just playing.
Reply:A lot of it depends on context. some cats dislike being picked up or petted. Or the cat may like being petted but suddenly smell another cat on you and react. Just prior to the bites, were you handling the cat? Cats do give warning signals to back off, but they are more subtle than you see in dogs. The first warning is a quick turn of the head to look at your hand. If that doesn't work the ears may go down and the pupils dilate. Then the tail starts flicking. If it makes big amplitude waves, the cat is really angry. Another cat would respond to the head turn and stop grooming. But humans often don't read it until it escalates into a paw swat or a bite.
Reply:Check out this website for a thorough explanation of why a cat will nip or bite your hand. I think it covers all scenarios and seems quite accurate....I certainly get bitten less nowadays! http://www.petsinpastel.com/petarticles/...
Reply:it is just a sign of affection, just like when dogs try to hump your leg

I need help with my vegetable garden. Any answers?
Okay here is the story, I planted a tiny garden for the first time ever. I planted tomatoes raddish celery sweet peas cucumbers banana peppers hot peppers cabbage lettuce and last but not least dill. I planted pretty late in the season actually to be precise it was june 20 . Most was planted from seed. I lost the seed packets and have no clue how to harvest them or when to harvest them. Can anyone give me some tips on where to start ? When can I pick'em? I know pretty much about the tomatoes Except when I pick em will another tomato grow in it's place?
I need help with my vegetable garden. Any answers?
Tomatoes will keep coming and coming and coming...Your eye will tell you when to harvest.
Reply:i agree with the first answer
Reply:when you pick the tomatos none will grow in it's place put others will grow on the plant. Peppers the same. Dill you cut when you need some and it keeps growing. As to time of harvest, you pick when things are ready to eat. Raddish you can see above the ground a bit and tell how big it is. Peas, cabbage and lettuce, I'm not sure.
Good luck.
Reply:Everything should be pretty evident other than the radishes. You more or less have to pull one when it gets good leaves on it to see how big it has grown. Peas will become full in the shell. Cucumbers are best when they are about 6 in. long. Yes tomatoes will keep coming until frost.
Reply:You planted very late, so some of the vegetables might not grow to maturity/ripeness. However, you'll probably get some tomatoes cause once they start producing fruit, they grow like crazy. As long as the conditions are right (heat/sun/water), tomatoes will produce fruit like crazy. You'll pick the tomatoes and more will become ripe shortly thereafter. You pick everything when they look ripe. No secrets to it. Next year, if you're going to plant that late, make sure you get plants that have already started. Seeds are tough. You really have to get those started indoors before it's even warm enough outside.

What's the normal weight for an adult cat?
I'm just curious. I recently weighed Marshall and Wylie. Marshall weighs 16 pounds, Wylie 6. I haven't done Sweet Pea yet, but figure she's 2.
What's the normal weight for an adult cat?
it varies immensly depending on what breed.
a Ragdoll can be 25 pounds, while a smaller short haired breed will be around 7-8 pounds, persians around 10-11.
.
Reply:that depends on the cat. the breed, the general size, age etc. i have a mommy cat here that is is about 9 lbs. i also have one of her kittens that is 19 lbs. hes huge. tall, very long, hers a big boy but not fat. youre vey should be able to give u an answer when u take ur kitty in for a visit. cats are like ppl. were all different sizes and body structures so what is right for one isnt necessarily right for another.

Reply:Depends upon the type of cat, bone structure, breed. I have a female mixed tabby cat, a mutt, who is about 10 or 11 pounds and she's just a little round, but not fat. I have an orange tabby who is about 16 pounds, but he's very tall and long, not so much fat, as just big. I have a purebred bengal cat who is about 12 pounds, but he's long, thin and sleek. I had another mutt cat who was about 11 pounds, but she was just a tad round, not quite fat. If my female mixed tabby was 16 pounds, she'd be FAT and would need to loose weight because her bone structure is medium to small. If my 16 pound cat weighed about 18 pounds, I'd start to worry, cuz then he'd probably be on the fat side. If my bengal wieghed 16 pounds, he'd be really fat because of his breed, and body structure. Even though he's at the low end of his weight, he's supposed to be really sleek and agile due to the asian leopard blood. he could probably use another pound. You can get a chart from your vet to see if they are over or underweight.
Reply:Depends on the breed of the cat...... a MaineCoon or Bengal will weigh more than a Rex.....
Reply:The ideal weight for a cat can vary widely, depending on the cat's size - I've seen petite cats who were healthy at 6 pounds, and huge Maine Coons who were healthy at 24 pounds.
A better way to tell if a cat is a healthy weight is to compare it to a body condition chart: http://www.cvm.tamu.edu/clinicalnutritio...
You don't need to know a cat's breed to tell if it's overweight - just compare its body shape to the body condition chart.
My healthy-weight domestic shorthair (aka shorthaired alley cats) cats range in weight and size - 6 1/2 pounds (female), 10 pounds (female), and 12 pounds (male-he used to weigh 16 1/2 before I changed his diet over to good canned food - if you're looking for good diet info see http://www.catinfo.org ).
Hope this helps!
Reply:Depends on the breed and the individual cat, but a rough guide is 7.7-8.8lb. Unless your cat is a big Maine Coon, I would suggest she is very obese!
Have at look at this diagram - cat overweight is usually based on body condition scoring rather than weight. See which diagram your cat looks more like:
http://www.hillspetslimmer.co.uk/overwei...
If she is overweight, I do advise seeing your vet for advice, being overweight dramatically shortens life expectancy and often results in an unhappy or spiteful cat. Feel free to email me for more advice, I do clinics for overweight cats and dogs! Cut out on extra food and just stick to cat food - but if she already doesn't eat much, do not cut down on her usual amount, get a diet food.

What solid foods are safe for my almost 9 month old baby with NO teeth?
My son is 8 months, 3 weeks old. Currently he's drinking lots of formula, tubs of Gerber solid foods (pureed applesauce, bananas, sweet potato, but not many veggies: he gagged on 'sweet peas' because of the taste). He doesn't like rice cereal and other cereals 'straight'. I have to mix it with sweet bananas or applesauce to get him to eat a tablespoon of it.
Is it okay to introduce real solid foods if he has no teeth yet? I am very scared of choking him on 'real food'.
I hear lists of cottage cheese/ yogurt/ bread / soft pasta / etc but it seems the only thing he wants right now is the bottle or spoon (with liquid solids). I tried one of those dissolving banana finger foods and most of the time he spits it out or kind of chokes on it (sometimes it goes down okay). He doesn't have the pincher move down yet either.
Since he has no teeth, what do you suggest to feed him besides milk and Gerber liquidy solids that would have a low choke-ability factor? Thanks.
What solid foods are safe for my almost 9 month old baby with NO teeth?
What I did with my daughter is I started her on scrambled egg yolk chopped up and soft canned pears chopped in small pieces. This helped her get the pincher grab down too. Also, try the gerber teething biscuits. They dissolve really easy and are big enough for them to hold onto. This was the first thing I gave my daughter and she LOVED it. I could hardly get it away from her!
Reply:"Real food" is okay if you puree it. It's actually MUCH cheaper and healthier than buying the prepackaged Gerber baby foods. What I did with my son was I would use a baby food mill and would mush/puree whatever my hubby and I were having for dinner and give it to my son. When he was around 9 months old I would put food on his highchair tray (pulled up next to the table so he felt like he was eating with Mommy and Daddy) and he would feed himself. It really gives incentive to eat healthy. I would make things like baked sweet potatoes, peas and baked chicken. Organic pasta and sauce with diced red peppers, olives, onions, etc. He also liked to snack on cheerios throughout the day.
Just make sure that the pieces are small and he won't choke. Never leave him alone while eating. Don't feed him junk like pieces of hot dogs (big choking hazard and totally unhealthy), french fries, etc. And watch out for things like raisins, grapes, etc. (Choking hazards as well)
Reply:if he has no teeth and would like for him to eat solid foods try a food processor and mix up table food he will be alright
Reply:I think Cheerios are good choice. They kind of disolve in the mouth, are small enough to be swallowed whole if need be, and they are great to practice picking up.
Reply:i wouldnt push it if he doesnt have any teeth yet. you dont wnat to have to worry anout chocking and things if he isnt ready. dont worry he will get teeth and he will be eating everything.
Reply:First of all....did you start with fruit....that is bad....there are many types of baby foods.....pastas, meats, veggies.....there is more that just sweet stuff.....no "solids" just yet....things like oatmeal and smashed up noodles maybe.....and it may be that you just have to let him go hungry for a while.....try feeding him, if he don't eat, but stuff away and try again later.....just because he won't eat his veggies, dont' break down and give him fruit....he knows that if he hold out he gets the good stuff......he is getting all the nutrition from the formula so if he don't get a solid he will be fine...just dont' give in.....try veggies, if he don't eat then put them away, sit him down and try again later......don't give him the good stuff until after he eats some veggies or something.
Reply:I believe he's gagging, not choking. My daughter gags when I introduce foods with different textures and after after a few tries she gets used to the texture.
She does well with crackers and toast, mostly she sucks on it until it dissolves in her mouth.
I also give her peeled grapes cut in 4 and I squeeze it into her mouth and she started learning to chew with her gums. I give her many soft fruits like cantaloups, honey dew, she loves beans, shwes them with her gums, I got her teething crackers and cookies, her favorites are the bitter ones.
She also loves ritz and club but they're too buttery and fattening.
You can also give her potato without anything etc Oh the all time favorite of course is banana!

Sugar and Spice Theme 1st Birthday Barbecue?
We believe we are going with this theme for our daughters birthday party. We would like everything to elude to her sweet or spicy (sassy even) personality.
Colors of fushia and orange or perhaps pink and brown. Party favors are baby food jars filled with candy for the sweet and personalized jars of bbq sauce or a spicy bbq rub.
So far we have come up with the following ideas
Baby back ribs
She (it's a girl) kabobs
Baby spinach salad
"Sweet pea" salad
"Sweet as a georgia peach "tea
"Our little cupcake tower" and various desserts
Activites will include:
Can I? A How well do you know her game
Bingo like game exept for spelling B-I-N-G-O we will spell out her name
Would you be so kind as to offer some additional suggestions that would make this a great time for all?
Sugar and Spice Theme 1st Birthday Barbecue?
What might be cute is to do a photograph frame where people can sign the matte with a cute pink or purple pen and write "sweet" messages - it would be a nice item to have as she gets older.
For your menu maybe add some fresh fruit. I would use a mellonballer so that it isn't just plain cut fruit.
If you have time you could even make ice with little pink bows inside. You could get something pink and plastic from your local craft store and put it in your ice trays - I would only let the adults use this ice too - children could choke.
Reply:You could have a photo of the baby girl blown up large and use it like pin the tail on the donkey but instead pin the ribbon in her hair!
Pink and white marshmellows on kebab sticks!
Thread some silk flowers in pink and white on some cotton, to greet guests as they arrive and place them round there necks.
Sugar dummies.
Pink candyfloss!
Good luck xx
Reply:For something sweet, get some plastic bowls (one for each participant) and in the bottom put one peice of bubble gum. Then spray a ton of whipped cream on top to where you can't see the gum. Then have a race between the kids to see who can find the gum (without hands) !!! its loads of fun and you get all messy. i dont know how well it would go with little kids though, but you could use it to make other games!
Reply:it's her first birthday? well in my family it's tradition to set them outside (if its warm enough) on a giant tarp with a chocolate cake just for them, and let her go to town on it. make sure to have your cameras ready to take pictures of the cake that she gets in her hair, nose, ears, and other crevices. it will be so precious!
Reply:That is SO CUTE!!! My daughter is having her first birthday in May and I might borrow your idea!!!
My other three older children have celebrated many parties and one thing they have all loved is tiny, tiny sweet baby muffins. We bake betty crocker cake mix in tiny mini muffin tins and ice with colors to match the party theme. You can buy tiny plastic baby dolls at party/toy stores to put on top, or even cute little candies that your daughter likes. We have also made "fairy bread". You butter fresh white bread and sprinkle coloured "hundreds and thousands" candy on them. cut into tiny sweet triangles. (cover with plastic wrap until serving time to keep them fresh).
Another thing we have made is tiny little girl gingerbread cookies. Martha Stewart's sugar cookies are a good recipe if you don't like gingerbread. Ice with pink / orange / white icing and pretty candies. You could even tie a few little girls together with ribbon and give as take home thank-you's for your guests.
Have a lovely party!
Reply:Pin the tail on the donkey.
Try having a little baby pool for the kids to cool off. And try potato salad, macaroni salad for the menu...
Reply:How about guest bringing pics with her both being sweet or sassy and then writing a little something about the memory of that pic, or something about her or future thoughts, to put into a scrapbook. Just have a scrapbook, some markers, and even a few pics already availble for guest to work on while the party is happening. You could also get a pinata to fill with candy, and some hot sauce packets.

What kind of food could u have at an wedding anniversary?
i'm doing an wedding anniversary and they don't want no chicken, barbecue, corn, sweet peas, sweedish meatballs, collard greens, pork or beef, no paper ware,no poultry at all, macroni and cheese, fish, and they don't want no kind of sea food. They don't want coolo-aid,soda,fruit punch.
What kind of food could u have at an wedding anniversary?
pigs feet, chitterlings and malt liquor.
Did you hire the strippers yet?
Reply:I think what they're saying is that they want something special. I hope you're being paid for this. Try some fancy hors de'ouvres, like shrimp cocktail, cheese %26amp; spinach puffs, and fried wontons. Dinner could be roasted chicken, which is real simple to make, w/ oven roasted potatoes %26amp; green beans... or something festive like rigatoni w/ vodka sauce. There's zillions of recipes online. Hang in there!! :)
The beverages should be set up separately from the food, so people can help themselves. A few different types of wine, bottled water %26amp; maybe iced tea could do it.
Reply:There is nothing left.
Serve them vitamins and a glass of water. =)
Reply:FFS
Just give them a bowl of nuts %26amp; a case of beer to share - it's all that's left after that list.
Reply:Bring them left overs from their wedding. . .*shaking head*
How about Rice and Beans with Lamb Chops? and WATER!.
Reply:then dont cater food
Reply:then i suggest you find out what foods they want or just find a place to cater the food
Reply:How about hot dogs...haha....
Well...they sure are picky!
Maybe sandwiches and a veggie tray.......and cake?
Reply:You have all kinds of options.......Um......Cereal.......Um...... you go.
Reply:sounds like they are being awfully picky...not sure what to suggest.
Reply:humble pie :)
Reply:what about some type of pasta dish or you could do some type of sampler with a huge variety of meats, fruits, veggies. And as for drinks i have no idea, cause all i need is some henny!

How to cope with vegetarian cats?
I am having a congress of vegetarian cats in my garden;
they must be vegetarians because, whatever ravages they may
commit among the sweet pea seedlings, they never seem to touch the sparrows; there are always just as many adult sparrows in the garden on Saturday as there were on Monday, not to mention newly-fledged additions.
They ate everything green and ravaged the soil! What should I do?
How to cope with vegetarian cats?
you can buy a "fence" type thing that has a small electric shock in it so they don't go by the plants anymore. it wont hurt them too bad just shock them a bit. they sell them to keep the raccoons out of fish ponds. its just one metal wire that wraps around your garden and hooks up to the device.
Reply:it actually sounds like it isn't the cats but another animal coming in and eating your veggies and the poor cat is getting the blame.. the cat may actually be after your veggie eater.....
Reply:heeheehe..sorry,but this sounds so funny!

Do we need a passport from Canada to Las Vagas?
My fiancé and I want to go to Las Vagas to get married in December but we do not have a passport. Do we need passports in order to go to Las Vagas? I heard that passports will be needed all the time soon. Thanks. Sweet-pea
Do we need a passport from Canada to Las Vagas?
I believe the requirement for a passport was due by the end of this year. Check with the consulate or embassy to make sure. You should probably get one just to be on the safe side. I'm thinking they said the law would be in effect last October, but I'm not sure.
Best Wishes on your marriage. God Bless.

Reply:It's less hastle %26amp; faster to go thru customs if you have a passport. I have traveled several times from US to Canada %26amp; Canada to US. Depending on Customs agent you could get hung up for a while. A slight error on either ID can be cause for them to refuse entry Better to have a passport. You can get a passport in 1 -2 days if you live close to a passport center. I got mine in 1 day. When you apply for your passport they ask when you are traveling always tell them a week from now. That puts your request for passport in front of que.

will require all travelers to the United States to have a valid passport by January 1, 2008, including U.S. and Canadian citizens, in accordance with a Congressionally mandated deadline. The passport requirement will be imposed on arrivals by air and sea in advance of January 1, 2008. This earlier deadline will be published in the Federal Register later this year, but we anticipate passports will be required for airport and seaport arrivals into the United States in early 2007.
it would be safe to get one ......read the article if you wish ?
Reply:Starting Jan 2007 you will need a passport if you are flying into the US from Canada or Mexico. As of right now, you do not need one if you are driving there or are arriving by boat, but this will change by June 2009, or sooner if the appropriate services can be put in place sooner. Right now, if you are driving, you need a birth certificate or a drivers license.

Any idea of a good meal to cook for dinner tonight with these ingredients?
These are the only ingredients I have in the entire house..what should i make?
4 chicken breats
sweet peas
mac n cheese
black eye peas
cornbeard mix
pinto beans
dinner rolls
mash potatoes
soul seasoning
lemon pepper seasoning
flour
tea and sugar
can stewed tomatoes
oatmeal
white rice
how should i perpare the chicken??
Any idea of a good meal to cook for dinner tonight with these ingredients?
i would season the chicken with the "soul seasoning" (
gotta be spicy, i'm some the south) andsome of the lemon pepper and put it in the oven, if your chicken is the kind with the bone in it, put in the pan bone side down. and bake on about 325 -350 until the juice inside runs clear ( depending on the size it could take maybe 30-45 minutes but check it every once in a while cause it can dry out fast) and the top is crispy. make the mash potatos and for a kick from the plain old box ind, add some of the lemon seasoning to it, just a dash of it. and pop open the can of peas. and maybe the dinner rolls if you want. i usually season with garlic salt more than lemon pepper but its will just taste like lemon then garli of course, if u want rice or mac and cheese instead of the potatos, that would work too. hope this helps
Reply:Make like a chicken chilli kind of thing. Like a spicy shredded chicken chilli w/ cornbread on the side. I don't like beans but it would be good over rice. I'm thinking like the spicy shredded chicken filling in enchilladas or something like at taco bell. I don't have a recipe. I'll find one and update ya
Reply:Here's a recipe from Kraft foods' website that looks like it would work. I'm assuming you have the ingredients to make the mac n cheese. Serve it with your dinner rolls or make the cornbread mix! You could probably add the can of tomatoes for extra color as well.
Cheesy Chicken Skillet
1 Tbsp. oil
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts (4), cut into bite-size pieces
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 pkg. (14 oz.) KRAFT Deluxe Macaroni %26amp; Cheese Dinner
2 cups frozen peas
HEAT oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken and thyme; mix well. Cook 5 min. or until chicken is browned, stirring frequently.
ADD milk, water and Macaroni; cover. Cook 10 min. or until macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally.
STIR in Cheese Sauce and peas. Cook an additional 2 min., stirring occasionally.
Reply:Well if you get started on it right away season your chicken with the lemon pepper seasoning and if you have any pour BBQ sauce over it and let it sit in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook it. Then BBQ it on the grill for some tasty chicken.
Use the mac and cheese and corn bread or dinner rolls and maybe a veggie or two.
Then iced tea to drink with dinner
That is about all I can tell for now. I hope this helps some.
Reply:Depending on how many people are going to eat your creation take a bit of each and soak it in a couple cups of water. Run it all through a blender Pour it in a cassarole pan and bake it at 350 degrees for about 2 hours. Then dish it out. All the best.
Oh, I forgot make sure you have lots of ketchup at the table for the dinners. And make sure you debone that chicken first!
My great granmomma used to call this 'Potluck Pouri.'
Reply:take the lemon pepper seasoning you have and put it on the chicken, put the chicken in the fridge for an hour or two so the seasoning can marinate a little bit. Then when your ready to cook make sure you have a really hot pan to sear off the chicken with, you want a nice golden sear on it. Then put it in the oven for about 10 minutes 425. make sure you put salt and pepper on the chicken before searing. serve with mash potatoes, sweet peas, and dinner rolls
Reply:Lemon-pepper chicken is really good. You can also cook the rice and place the cooked chicken in it to kinda dress it up a bit. And I would go with the dinner rolls. Another idea is pinto beans and cornbread.
Reply:Season your chicken breasts with your soul seasoning, rub it in good, then let sit in the fridge, covered 1/2 hr. bake at 350 for 20-30 min (until juices run clear) let sit on covered plate while making a thin sauce of the drippings, a dash of flour to make a thin roux in a saucepan. You can add the juice of the stewed tomatoes (not the tomatoes) or water and any salt/pepper or more soul seasoning to your taste. The sauce should only be thick enough only to thinly coat the back of a spoon. You can use the tomatoes cooked with your rice according to package directions, and serve your sweet peas on the side with dinner rolls. I hope you have a very satisfying dinner.
Reply:You can chop the chicken into bite size bits. Cook it with the stewed tomatoes, season with lemon pepper. Do not over cook the chicken. You will be warming it later. Set Aside.
Line a pan with the mashed potatoes, (If you like crisp potatoes bake this part a bit first) then layer on the chicken mixture, then top with mac %26amp; cheese. Place in the oven until the mac %26amp; cheese is bubbly and browning.
Serve the pinto beans, sweet peas and black eyes as a side. Season with Soul Seasoning. (add butter if you have it)
Reply:Have The Chicken Breasts Grilled and Drenched In Bar-B-Q Sauce. Then Make The Dinner Rolls and Mashed Potatoes. And Wa-Lah! There you have it, the perfect Dinner.
Reply:OMG can I come over?
Season your chicken with the soul seasoning and then brown in a pan w/some oil or butter. Toss in the stewed tomatoes and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
Serve with the black eyed peas, cornbread and mashed potatoes.
I am so hungry now, for some good southern cookin'! All you're missing is the greens...check that!...cook the peas, too!
What time is dinner?

Serve with the black eyed peas, cornbread and mashed potatoes.
I am so hungry now, for some good southern cookin'! All you're missing is the greens...check that!...cook the peas, too!

What was the name of the small soft doll, 8"?, in a green jammie like outfit from the early 1970's. Baby Pea?
When I had her as a child I thought she was probably the Green Giants baby. Pink child face, green outfit, hat? Baby Pea? Sweet Pea?

I think you mean Baby Beans by Mattel. They came in different colored outfits, not just green. They were filled with beans, like bean bags.

What cute nickname do you call your little one?

How do you keep your sanity when your baby is going thru a "phase"?
My sweet-pea is going thru a phase where he's not so sweet right now. He's not sleeping at night all of a sudden....and not because anything is wrong, he just wants to be held and rocked, and during the day he is fine until I tell him no, or put him down if he wants to be held (all day!) or won't give him something. Then he cries and screams and kicks and just throws a fit!!! I know this is normal and it is a stage that I'm sure all kids go thru (he is 16 months by the way), but I'm just wondering how everyone else keeps their sanity when their kid is crabby and sleepless for days on end. I know that I shouldn't be "mad" at him (and I would never, ever hurt him) but it's hard not to be crabby with him when the crying and whining is constant. Kind of makes me feel trapped. How do you all deal with it? Just knowing I'm not alone will help!! Thanks!
How do you keep your sanity when your baby is going thru a "phase"?
If I get frustrated I gotta get it out somehow.
Like if I am at my wits end and I need a cry, well I go somewhere quiet and have a cry.
If I get angry or feel I am going to lose my temper I walk into my walk in robe, shut the door and scream out a bad word.
Either way I make sure my son can't see I have lost it and it gets the frustration out of my system and I carry on.
I never really get angry at my son, per se, but you get angry at situations and sometimes have to let fly. I always feel better and no one is any the wiser.
Reply:This is the part of motherhood that no one can explain. You love someone so much and want the best for them and then they drive you crazy. I want to let you know you are not alone. I think some times we think we are alone. We look around and we think every other mother has it together. If you start to talk to those mothers, the open up and tell you all the silly things their kids did today. I don't know how we keep our sanity. I think it is something God put in every mother. Good luck.
Reply:My son was born premature (he's 3-1/2 now), and since then it's been one event after another. Everything from colic to major surgery (waaay too much to detail here). So I feel yor pain, and in all honesty, and with great sincerity, I say pray.
I feel like I'm losing it on a consistent basis, and it's extremely difficult NOT to show these feelings/emotions to my son. He's the youngest ... the miracle baby ... the one they said we'd never have. So I find myself feeling guilty often because I just can't handle it, and I want to scream. You're not alone, but know that you can make it through. This is just one period in time, and it will get better. As bad as it seems you just have to think positively, try to get in a break whenever possible (I know that can be difficult), and talk to God. He'll give you the strength to make it through.
I hope it gets better soon.
God Bless!
Reply:You just have to breath deep and remind yourself that it''l end sometime. That is what I do, my daughter is almost 3 and has gotten into the whine 24/7 phase. Just remember he is more then likely not doing it on purpose, he can't really help it.
Reply:You have to let him cry it out. You probably both need a time out. Put him in a play pen and walk away for a little bit...when it comes to sleeping, I used the cry it out method and now he is a wonderful sleeper...you obviously already have patience because I would never be able to handle holding my heavy son all day! Put your foot down, and the most important thing is consistency.
Reply:all it takes is patience, the more they cry and have a moment, the more you should hug him and love him. He can't fight you when your loving him. But know the difference between discipline and tantrums. I have so much patience. And speaking calmly and always smile.
Reply:My son is at this stage (he's 15 months old). When it get's at it's worst during the day, I just act silly with him. We dance (chicken dance is the best), go for a walk, play peek a boo behind drapes, chase him by crawling, etc. Being silly puts me in a good mood (his laughter always does!), and it's a good change of pace.
Reply:how to keep your sanity when your child is driving you insane:
1)if they didnt sleep last night when they go down for a nap forget the housework and have a nap too
2)if they go to bed at night, run a bath, grab a book, and soak for 30-60mins with some nice bath oils/salts
3)get outside- take a ball or something similar and run him around to use up lots of energy
4)put him in a stroller/jogger and go for a walk, if you're lucky he'l fall asleep, if not at least you'v had a bit of exercise to relieve some stress
5)tell yourself its just a phase and you'l both get through it and it will eventually pass
6)cuddle him lots, remind yourself how much you love him, over emphasise with praise all his good points and anything nice that he does that day
7)SMILE and remind yourself you are doing a great job!!!

There is nothing wrong with asking for help, we all need it.
Have you brought him to a pediatrician, to make sure there isn't something wrong?
My son was terribly whinny and crabby when he was teething and when he was colicky.
Good Luck

Advice For First Time Gardener?
This will be my first time planting a flower garden and I have several questions and things I need help with. I bought many seeds of plants I liked and planted them in one of the mini greenhouse things that you put the peat things in and plant the seeds in them.
Some of the more tiny stemmed delicate ones that grew began to get a web like thing around them and died. what caused it and how can I prevent it from happeneing? The ones most affected were the poppies, Columbine, snapdragon, and the foxglove once I took it out of the greenhouse.
I planted Foxglove,Cockscomb, sweet William, Forget-Me-Nots, Larkspur, Oriental and Iceland Poppies, Sweet Pea, Columbine, Red and Yellow Sunflower, Canterbury Bells, Snapdragon, Red Hot Poker, ect.
It has been very warm and then this week it dropped off to freezing suddenly for like a week. How can I make sure it will not freeze again so I can plant them?
Can you reccomend any other flowers, tips, ect that will be good for shade/par. sun?
Advice For First Time Gardener?
Welcome to the wild and wicked world of gardening! Since your temp dropped, along with most of the east part of the country, and they were grown in a greenhouse, assume a large death rate. Remove any dead or diseased plants immediately!
I'm going to make a few suggestions for you. #1 is to contact your local County Extension Agent for information on the last frost date and plants for your area (phone in government section). #2 is to have the Agent or local Nursery do a soil test for you to determine what you may need to have the plants you want to grow properly. #3 most flowers and seeds should not be planted before Mother's Day! #4 Use the info from the Agent and Nursery and begin with baby steps in using hardy flowers for your area. #5 Use container or flats plantings.
This time of the year is for preparing not planting. Get the soil ready and your planting arrangement in a diagram. Begin purchasing your ferts and pesticide agents. Buy the mulch you will be using (hardwood shredded). I would suggest trying the Preen fert with weed prevent for your weed control and Safer Inscticidal Soap for your insects.
With the materials on hand and the bed preperation done you are ready to go in early-mid May. Most of the expense is out of the way. Go to a Nursery, not the Box Stores, and purchase your flowers. Plant, mulch, Preen, water and you are off and running. Hope it Helps.
Reply:When i first started gardening, I first checked out some of the local garden clubs, everyone I talked with were more than happy to share advise, plants, and seeds. They all had excellent advise that was pertinent to the area. They were also very pleased to welcome a younger, (than many of them) curious, person to the knowledge they had. The freeze question is something none of us can forsee, so, I advise a light scattering of bedding straw,(Very cheap at feed and ranch stores) or a tentlike newspaper over tender seedlings at night. Some nice flowers for sun/shade...try helleborus, (lenten rose)!.There are 1000's of ideas at the numerous gardening websites.Good Luck! and, be sure of what are annuals, perennials, and biennials.
Reply:you have spiders around. you might want to dust. your plants. also check your weather if in Michigan we all know not to plant outside before memorial day. you could ask the feed and grain store around area or a good nursery. if you know any farmers they would be glad to tell ya. i don't see any hollyhocks listed or calalillies, lillies, daisies.Jasmin or morning glory. how about a butterfly bush for added touch.
Reply:Check out garden.org for your last frost date. The last frost date is ONLY a recommended date to plant in your area. You should also watch your local weather forecast and make sure it will be relatively warm in the near future. Planting too early usually means disappointment and added cost of replanting. Don't " jump the gun" and have regrets. Better late than dead! good luck!
