Thank You!
How to make a simple rotini salad using cheese?
cook the pasta and mix everything you want in it and give a big squirt of Ranch Dressing.
Reply:Cook the pasta and rinse in cold water. Dice your cheese and other things. Sometimes I use garlic in the water for cooking the pasta and sometimes not. I flavor the cooking water, not the salad!
Serve on a nice bed of spinach leaves for a pretty look.
Reply:It's hasn't the distinction .
Reply:When boiling pasta, use least amount of minutes posted on box so pasta will retain it's shape and not break or taste soggy. Then drain and cool under cold water. Add your favorite vinaigrette and toss. (Mine is Paul Newman's light balsamic, which does not taste light.)
You could use only pitted black olives and sliced grape or cherry tomatoes. Sliced grape or cherry tomatoes absorb the vinaigrette; whole ones won't. This step improves the overall flavor of your salad.
These steps could be done ahead of time and chilled so all flavors blend.
Before serving, you could chop Feta cheese into bite size squares, then toss the salad carefully to keep all ingredients looking fresh and whole, instead of crushed and mushy.
Reply:It will be fine with just those ingredients, but it would be better to use a salad dressing instead of mayo. Mayo is pretty thick to coat all the rotini. Ranch, Creamy Italian or even regular Italian would work great. Really, any dressing you want. No additional seasoning needed.
Consider throwing some finely chopped onion in there (unless you really hate it). It's a real flavor booster. You might feel like you're missing something without it.
If you do want to stick with mayo, try adding some garlic powder, oregano and basil. Fresh parsley will also be nice.
Reply:use peas only the frozen kind canned will be goopy and mushy..mayo, cheese, and diced ham.
add all the ingredients above with the noodles and add some old bay seasoning to them about 1/2 tbsp..mix well and add in some fresh parsley and finely diced onion and one finely chopped hard boiled egg. yum!
