What should I put around my dog house?

I am getting an aussie in a couple of months, and I'd like to put a lot of flowers, and vines around her dog house. What should I do? I'm thinking of having it between my maple trees, with lillies, other perannuals, annuals around it and morning glories and sweet peas vining up. But if she has blue eyes (shes an aussie), i'll probably have all blue flowers. Thanks in advance.

What should I put around my dog house?
an old saying: "you can have a dog or a garden--but not both" especially if it's a puppy! you are dreaming. save yourself the frustration and irritation with the dog, and don't plant anything but mulch next to it's doghouse.
Reply:white picket fence.
Reply:flowers?
Reply:Decoration !
Reply:Poison ivy so that it doesn't poop behind her house
Reply:Will you be mad when she destroys the plants?

Think about it .Do you plan on training her to tip toe through the tulips. GET REAL!!!
Reply:I wouldn't keep my dog outside in a dog house away from me. Poor little doggie will miss you. If I had to leave her to go to work though I would definitely put some cedar wood chips around to help keep bugs away from her house. If you are getting a puppy be careful. Puppies like to eat everything and some plants are toxic. Maybe just use hanging flower baskets, something your pup cant get into and hurt herself.
